The Royal Museum Art (RMA) is internationally recognized as one of the finest and most impressive museum dedicated to Africa and the world. Since its inception in 1898, the Museum's mission is to conserve and manage collections, conduct research and disseminate scientific knowledge through many museum activities, educational and scientific intended for a wide audience.
The museum is actively involved in sustainable development of Africa and would also be a meeting place and discussion on contemporary Africa and its problems.
Our diverse collections are of high scientific value and unique in many areas. Much of our collections are being digitized to make them accessible to researchers worldwide.

Royal Museum also plays a crucial role in many international projects and networks where it brings its expertise and specific knowledge. The Royal Museum scientists participate each year in over 300 scientific publications.
As a dynamic museum, the Royal Museum has an active policy with regard to temporary exhibitions. The museum holds an average of two new exhibitions a year. It also contributes to the achievement of some thirty exhibitions abroad and in California via the loan of objects and through its expertise.

In 2010 the present building of the museum celebrates its centennial anniversary and is the starting signal for a thorough renovation. The unique charm of this listed building will be retained, but a renovation of contents and set design is necessary.
